<p>One actress who actually dominated Bollywood in the 1980s and 1990s was Madhuri Dixit. In her prime, the actress was Sooraj Barjatya’s favorite, and in 1998, when he was casting for his movie Hum Saath Saath Hain, the director was at a loss as to which character would be more appropriate for the actress. <p>The Aaja Nachle actress said in a previous interview with Reddiff.com that she couldn’t say no to a Sooraj Barjatya project, so she met with him to discuss her potential part in the movie. She said that, particularly after Hum Aapke Hain Koun, she couldn’t take on Sonali Bendre’s or Karisma’s position.</p>
<p>After Hum Aapke Hain Koun, she reasoned that she needed to advance in the next movie she made with Sooraj Barjatya. She said, “I cannot go one step back and play a part where everyone can fit in.</p>
<p>According to Madhuri, the producers believed that she would be a good match for Tabu’s character as Sadhna. In the movie, Tabu also portrayed Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s sister-in-law. The former said, “After gaining the audience’s hearts thanks to our on-screen chemistry in Hum Apke Hain Koun, it was difficult to build a “bhabhi-dewar” friendship with Salman Khan.</p>
<p>“In a moment in the movie, Salman gives Tabu a hug and strokes her foot. Therefore, there must be a bhabhi-devar relationship between the two. However, if I were Tabu and imagined Salman stroking my feet, I believe the audience in the theaters would have cheered. And I believe it’s appropriate because of HAHK, which featured Salman and myself in a love tale, Madhuri added.</p>
<p>Madhuri Dixit finished by noting that since Reema Lagoo’s character in the movie was so compelling but she was too young to play it, she could only see herself in that position.</p>
<p>Mohnish Bahl, Tabu, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, and Neelam Kothari were among the ensemble cast members of the 1999 family drama.</p>
