The Knights’ Laurie Evans elected to hit a delivery from Fazalhaq Farooqi far off in the eighteenth over of the first session. But Boult, who was always prepared, saw the soaring ball precisely and executed a stunning grab with his left hand by diving and rolling down. Evans eventually faced two balls and went back to the locker room for a duck as a result.

Many fans have declared the catch to be among the best in ILT20 history, and the video of it has gone viral on social media. One of them called it “a catch as big as Superman.”

Two balls ago, Laurie Evans had come out to bat. He lofted the ball high into the air, but Afghanistan international Fazalhaq Farooqi’s delivery was not far enough, and Trent Boult was able to race towards the region left of long-off and make an incredible catch, forcing MI Emirates to finish the bowling innings well.

In the end, Trent Boult’s catch proved to be significant as MI Emirates won easily on Sunday, January 28 by eight wickets. After winning the toss, the Emirates elected to bowl first to start the game. Boult was pivotal in the first innings, grabbing two catches and scalping a wicket. The Knights lost only five wickets in their chase for a respectable total of 188. Andre Russell, who scored 46 runs off of 17 balls, was the Knights’ greatest knock.

Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem combined for a strong 104 runs during the run chase, giving the MI Emirates the ideal start. Waseem hit an undefeated 89 while Perera hammered 54 runs in 26 balls. Nicholas Pooran scored 33 runs off of 19 balls to give the Emirates a resounding victory.
