<p>A 24-person national women’s squad from Hockey India was announced on Saturday for the FIH Pro League 2023–24’s Bhubaneswar and Rourkela legs.</p>

<p>The Rourkela leg will start on February 12 and run till February 18, while the Bhubaneswar leg will start on February 3 and finish on February 9.</p>
<p>In the first leg of their campaign, India will play the visiting teams twice each from the United States, the Netherlands, China, and Australia. On February 3, they will play China, the current Asian Games champions.</p>
<p>In the FIH Pro League 2023–24, Savita and Bichu Devi Kharibam will be the goalkeepers for the Indian women’s hockey team. In the meanwhile, the squad’s defenders are Gurjit Kaur, Nikki Pradhan, Udita, Ishika Chaudhary, Monika, and Jyoti Chhatri.</p>
<p>In the midfield, there will be Nisha, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Neha, Navneet Kaur, Salima Tete, Sonika, Jyoti, Baljeet Kaur, and Sunelita Toppo. Mumtaz Khan, Beauty Dungdung, Lalremsiami, Sangita Kumari, Deepika, Vandana Katariya, and Sharmila Devi are the forwards on the team.</p>
<p>For the FIH Pro League 2023–24, senior attacker Vandana Katariya has been selected as Vice Captain and seasoned goalie Savita as Captain of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team.</p>
<p>A few young players will be joining us for the FIH Pro League in 2023–2024. We place a great deal of attention on the league since the winners will guarantee a position in the FIH Hockey World Cup in 2026. The team is excited to play some of the top teams in the globe in our neighborhood and we want to strengthen our bond as a unit. The goal, according to Indian Women’s Hockey Team Chief Coach Janneke Schopman, is to start the league on a high note and keep getting better as we go along.</p>
